Hanson Community Power is a program in development by the Town to provide residents and businesses more electricity supply options and more renewable energy. The program is a Town-vetted alternative to National Grid’s default supply and other third party electricity suppliers.
Hanson Community Power is launching in June 2024!
Hanson has chosen Direct Energy as the supplier for Hanson Community Power. The program will launch in June 2024 and have fixed prices for 30 months until December 2026.
Customers eligible for automatic enrollment in Hanson Community Power will be mailed this notification letter in early April 2024. If you receive the letter, you are slated to be enrolled in Hanson Standard (13.693 ¢/kWh) as of the June meter read. No action is necessary to receive this price. If you are enrolled, you may always leave the program at any time, without penalty.

Participants in the program will automatically receive Hanson Standard, the community default, unless they chose one of the other optional products. To choose a different product click here.
Future savings cannot be guaranteed. The additional RECs qualify for MA Class I designation and come only from solar, wind, anaerobic digestion and low impact hydro. RECs are the accepted legal instrument used to track renewable energy generation and to substantiate claims of renewable energy use.
